Reconstruction, renovation and development of the National Museum
One of the construction and investment projects of the National Museum included in the program financing by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic is the revitalization of the Náprstek Museum. In 2020, a selected consortium of architects from Brno, represented by Ing. arch. Radko Květ, Rada Architekti and Adam Rujbr Architects continued the project preparation for the renovation of the historic complex on Betlémské náměstí and the new construction of the central depository located in the premises of the National Museum in Horní Počernice.
In the course of 2020, documentation of the construction design was submitted for both of these investment projects and discussed with future users, the employees of the Náprstek Museum. The restoration of the buildings of the Náprstek Museum with a new building located in the historical area on Betlémské náměstí was discussed with the conservation staff at several conservation councils. Suggestions and specific comments were incorporated into the next stage of the project documentation, the documentation for the territorial proceedings, which was completed at the end of 2020 and handed over to the National Museum and for the legislative proceedings.
Documentation for the construction of the central depository of the Náprstek Museum in the premises of the National Museum in Horní Počernice was handed over for inspection and legislative proceedings. Both of the above-mentioned construction investment projects were launched at the subsequent stage of project documentation for a building permit.
In November 2020, the rehabilitation of Palach’s 30-meter pylon was completed, and a sculpture by Miroslav Chlupáč entitled “Flame” was installed on it. The sculpture was created according to the design of Miroslav Chlupáč by the academic sculptor Antonín Kašpar. The ceremonial unveiling of this sculpture took place on the day of the struggle for freedom and democracy, on 17 November 2020.
The project documentation for the roof reconstruction of the depository building of the Czech Museum of Music in Litoměřice, the static assessment of the Na Zátorách National Museum Archive in Prague 7, the documentation for the repair of the balconies and terraces of the Kinský Summer Palace in Prague 5 were completed from our own resources.
Furthermore, the restoration survey and the plan for the restoration of the stairs in the garden of the Antonín Dvořák Museum in Prague 2 and the project documentation for the repair of the enclosure wall of the chateau park in Vrchotovy Janovice were completed, and on their basis an investment plan was prepared and subsequently submitted for registration to the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic with the aim of registering for program financing of the event. The investment plan for the implementation of an attic installation of the depository in Terezín II was also submitted for registration to the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
